Computers in 20-years will not look anything like they do today and how do we know this? Simple, look at computers 20-years ago, heck look at the computers 10-years ago. Many futurists and technologists ponder the question; what will the future computers be like and how can we best re-design them to live up to our demands and technology progresses?
Yes, I agree with the thinking of these futurist folks; we do need to redesign these communication, processing, computer, and add-on memory devices to serve future needs. Indeed, they should be integrated into any human (+) bio-mind system that chooses to have one. I have had some thoughts on this subject as well if you are interested.
You see, it seems Arthur C. Clarke had it partly correct with regards to inter-carbon biped communication of the future, it appears that is exactly where we are headed, we will soon be living his Sci Fi works in that regard.
I’d say that had he lived and wrote 3001 in a different decade or well after Moore’s Law he may have had these devices the size of grains of sand spinning around inside of a bubble 1/3 size of a 3D finger nail, communicating by light and tuning to the proper frequency to reach any individual mind or group of minds on a network.
What are your thoughts on re-designing this archaic computer design? I mean key-boards are ridiculous, they should all run with voice, or rather thought input. “You think, it computes.” That’s how Earth Species are designed, computers should be “ergonomically similar,” although we need to invent us a new word for that. Sometimes I think that the humans are their own worst enemy, preventing the future is silly.
The future is coming whether we like it or not, so we may as well get busy and re-design to serve us rather than allowing chaos to decide our computerized fate of the future. Think on this.
